Literature Text

As the world hurtled by I thought I saw it
Just a tiny glimmer of light
Like a needle in a haystack
Yet I was drawn to it
It kept me afloat in that sour ocean
Shielded my eyes from the salt
I heard its tinkling laugh as the wind whipped my hair
Welcomed my toes into the cool sand
And glittered down from the sun
It waited for me in a stranger's smile
The one-legged pigeon that didn't have time to pity itself
It was warm and cozy in my room
And I smelled it in the bakery
I'm not sure what it was exactly
But I have the strangest feeling
That it might have been the little glimmer of hope
That flew out of my personal Pandora's box
And I'm quite alright with that
If you were wondering, yes I did see a one-legged pigeon. She sat right on the tables with all the people and let them feed her chips. =3
